It's like our room was cleaned after the last guests moved out but that was weeks ago because just about every surface is dusty and grimy and the carpets need hoovering again. Also, a handful of dead flies at every windowsill. Also the bathroom bin is just for show because the inner cover is missing. Just found out the next morning that the shower didn't get hot enough to properly use.

Horrific service. Booked for a party in December, invitations etc sent out. Then after being ignored for weeks, multiple phone calls and emails. I then got informed when they finally answered that they had double booked and couldn't do the original date. No apology, even though admitted they missed my emails and could see them now (convenient). No discount offered for another day, even though it was not my fault. Just rude staff, with zero cares. Do not trust this venue ! I now have guests who have invitations and no where to go.

Swinfen Hall was on our list of wedding venues. It was safe to say we were extremely put off by the customer service we received when being shown around. Lucie 'showed us round'- if that's what want you to call it😂 There was myself, my fiance, my maid of honour and both sets of parents. On our arrival we were asked if there was a typo error on the form as it stated '2026' (we looked October 2022). To which I explain was correct. We were told we weren't able to book that far in advance (which I already knew) so there was no point in us visiting but she'd 'show us around anyway'. As soon as I told Lucie this, I felt the appointment was pointless. I explained that my parents were stuck in traffic and were running a little late, I then had a sarcastic remark and said 'oh is the whole family coming' The whole way round we felt judged like we weren't 'posh enough' to be viewing this venue. My mother in law to be asked why the tree in the distance was red and the response she got was 'why not'. No explanation or history. We walked past the gardens and she just pointed to them and said 'you'll have photos over there'. I asked about the marquee as we weren't sure the reception room was big enough we were told this was a flat hire fee and it was 'very expensive' making me feel that we couldn't afford it. It was the quickest show around, we were there 10mins max. Lucie didn't ask if we had any other questions and was quick to get us out the door. She opened the door before we could even say bye! The venue itself was lovely but we were put off with the awful customer service we received. I wouldn't recommend any couple considering to marry here to even bother. I wouldn't trust them one bit!

Absolutely appalled and disgusted with this awful company, we booked our wedding for 2024 ,4 months ago!!!! And have received and an email today saying they are now closing for 2024!?! DO NOT BOOK YOUR WEDDING HERE, If you have, look elsewhere ASAP and don't trust them ... avoid these guys like the plague, awful service too with Ellie literally selling us a dream, and lying to us constantly with absolutely NO remorse.

My sister and brother in law booked their wedding for 2024 at Swinfen Hall after going to their open day in January 2023. They paid their deposit in February 2023. Having received little to zero contact with anyone at Swinfen Hall by July 2023, they endlessly called the venue to which their appalling response was ‘oh, all our weddings are cancelled next year for a refurbishment.’ Apparently an email was sent but upon further investigation, the email was never sent to them. An EMAIL to tell you that your wedding is cancelled?!!! Not one phone call. This is not a tea party! This is someone’s wedding! Everything possible should have been done to contact them to ensure they knew a LOT sooner! Why are they hosting a wedding open day and accepting peoples deposits when they must have known they were closing down for 2024?!!! They are now very stressed on the hunt for wedding venues, AGAIN!! Absolutely abhorrent behaviour from all that work and are involved at Swinfen Hall. Do not book at wedding here unless you want utter disappointment and horrific service.

Disgusting Do not go anywhere near this venue. The treatment we have received has been unimaginable. We booked our wedding with Swinfen whilst at their wedding showcase in January 2023. Our wedding date was booked and deposit paid in February 2023 for our wedding on October 12th 2024. We even went back with both parents to show them our venue. We then lost all communication, no emails were being responded to or calls returned for months. Yesterday my partner managed to get through to the phone which has been on answerphone for the longest time to be told all weddings for 2024 have been cancelled due to renovations. We had absolutely no idea, and they had no intention of telling us or retuning our deposit I’m not sure had we not been so persistent that we would have found out. To say we’ve hit the roof is an understatement we have lost 7 months of planning and money. the worst part by far is that they do not care, we were told we would receive a call today at 11 and have been ignored again since with no phone call. They 100% would have known back in January their plans to shut for 2024 so to hold a wedding showcase is beyond me. The sheer lack of empathy is heartbreaking, I adored this venue and have put some much money and time into the planning for there, we are losing so much more that just our wedding venue. I’m so heartbroken that this is what my wedding planning has turned out to be. Even if they renovate the place from the ground up the management, owners and staff will be the same and if they don’t care now, they won’t care about you in future.

Chloe Caldwell Photography - As a wedding photographer, Swinfen Hall is a venue I adore! The grand interiors, beautifully landscaped gardens and impressive driveway make for incredible portrait backdrops. The views from the venue over the countryside are just stunning and a wonderful backdrop. I can't wait to return very soon. - Chloe Caldwell Photography

Had the pleasure of staying here to celebrate a friends wedding. Beautiful house and grounds. The room was lovely and spacious with complimentary fruits, water and the usual tea and coffee facilities. The bed was big and comfy. Food provided on the evening was delicious, hot and plentiful. Breakfast was a little disappointing, although I did like the sausage and bacon. All the staff were friendly and professional. A big thank you in particular to Emily and Ruth who ran the bar. They were very professional and friendly and were delightful to chat to.

We had the most wonderful New Year's Eve at Swinfen Hall. The pre-dinner entertainment was lovely, the meal was superb and the band had everyone dancing the night away. As if that wasn't enough sparking wine was served before midnight and we went out on the steps for a spectacular firework display.

Was my daughters wedding, hughly recommended for weddings and other special occasions. Food was amazing, beautiful rooms and the staff are second to none. We couldnt have asked for more, nothing was too much trouble. Will definitely be going back for an overnight stay and meal.
